About Us

Two brothers, Carson Deck and Kenneth Deck,  had the dream in the early 1960s of building a golf course.  Originally designed by Willie B. Lewis, Meadowbrook Golf Club has been in existence since 1963. It has been owned by the Deck family the entire time. Today, William Deck is the head professional.

Meadowbrook features many traditional classic qualities with large mature trees and a variety of open holes over gentle undulating land mixed with challenging shots and many older style features in its greens.  It has become a popular course over the years offering daily fee play and a limited number of memberships.

This Is Not Just A Development To Us.

Built on the entire family property at the time, over the years additional property has been added that today allows us to make substantial improvements to the course and address some crowded areas.  As we considered the needs and looked at the potential changes, we chose to bring in an outstanding golf architect with a long list of original designs and extensive renovation across North Carolina.  A native Carolinian, Rick Robbins has over 30 years experience in the field of golf architecture, including many years as a lead designer for Jack Nicklaus, before starting his own firm over 10 years ago.  Rick has an impressive resume of design work both in the United States and internationally.

As planning began, care has been taken to keep all 18 holes in play during the entire process.  The renovation includes several new holes, two of which are being constructed during Phase One.  When finished, the changes promise to keep all the character and playability Meadowbrook is known for with all types of golfers.  Rick Robbins will offer a golf course that will be enjoyable and playable for all golfers while offering a challenge. From the 7,000 yard championship tees along with new extensive practice facilities.

Our family has experienced the lessons of life taught by the game of golf.  Three members of our family have become golf professionals while golf has impacted nearly all in this family.  Today the dream has grown and a new chapter has begun for Meadowbrook Golf Club.  With the skillful hand of recognized golf architect, Rick Robbins, Meadowbrook will become an even better golf course for every kind of golfer, able to offer both enjoyment, playability, and challenge.
