Meadowbrook Golf Course - www.meadowbrookgolfclub.com
Designed by Willie B. Lewis, who learned his craft under George Cobb, Meadowbrook Golf Course was built during the early 1960s.  Using all the available land at his disposal, Lewis fashioned a golf course with many classic features.  The golf course has matured over its 45 years and become a favorite in this area.

As the community surrounding the golf course took shape in our planning, we realized the chance to improve the course and relieve congested areas restricted by our original size.  With the selection of internationally respected designer, Rick Robbins, Meadowbrook will realize its full potential as one of the outstanding public golf courses in this region.

Rick has a great wealth of experience and knowledge that will improve the golf course with several new holes while respecting the character and tradition of the golf course.

Great care has been taken that the golf course will be available for play at all times during construction of any new holes.  During Phase One, new holes 10 and 11 are being built while original holes 10 and 11 remain in play.  The original 18 hole golf course is available for play today and the growing excitement of the new holes when open will increase the enjoyment of the course for all levels of players.

About Rick Robbins - Golf Course Architect
“North Carolina-based golf course architect Rick Robbins possesses a certain aplomb that speaks of a lifetime steeped in the traditions of both the South and the game of golf. When he was young, Robbins's family was involved in the resort development business in the North Carolina mountains.

His father managed operations at one of the finest golf venues in The Tarheel State, Pine Needle during the 1960s, and he learned to play on that revered Donald Ross design.  After 13 years with Devlin and  Von Hagge, Robbins signed on with the Jack Nicklaus Group, and was eventually awarded the position of Senior Designer in Hong Kong and the Far East, where he lived for two years, designing courses in exotic golf destinations like Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, and Sri Lanka.

In 1991, Robbins founded Robbins and Associates, International, and has designed and overseen the construction of golf courses throughout the continental U.S along with designs around the world including China. Robbins's courses have won praise from players and critics alike... Always with an eye to classic course design principles, he realizes that the game is continually evolving…”
